Dark Grey indicates low clouds made of water droplets.
Light grey is for middle clouds made up of a mixture of water and ice.
White shows the middle to high clouds, all clouds above this level are made of ice crystals.
Red is for the high clouds.
The white and red clouds are often associated with rain.
Green is very high clouds.
Blue is for the highest clouds.
The green and blue clouds are often associated with frontal systems, strong winds at high levels and or thunderstorms.
